YEAR 1 A year of working with Helen Magnus and Nikola Tesla resulted in formulation and production of a serum for vampires so that they would not need to feed on blood to survive. Many versions of the serum were created and fine-tuned for each species of vampire in the city by the end of Urahara's third year in the city, but due to the need for materials and a way to streamline the production of the serum for continuous distribution, it was not made publicly available until... YEAR 2 ( Spider Infestation ) The beginning of Urahara's fourth year at Adstringéndum. Having wrapped up that project, Urahara turned his attention to the other issues, chief among which was the problem of the Hellfire in his soul. Having collected all the data that he could by himself, Urahara turned to the one man he knew would have no qualms cutting him open: Kurotsuchi Mayuri. YEAR 3 In between working on Project Hellfire, Urahara also had various little projects with Mayuri. Chief among them was the attempt to create something along the lines of a multi-reality Garganta in order to establish an inter-dimensional passageway between Adstringéndum and the worlds of the people in the city. Initial attempts only brought back mangled things (like small animals/monsters turned inside out), but neither scientist gave up. YEAR 4 ( Midas Touch ) The end of Urahara's sixth year at Adstringéndum marked the breakthrough made in his research on the Hellfire that had been burning at his soul since the end of his second year in the city. With that knowledge, he was able to... YEAR 5 ( Grab Bag ) Remove and repair the damage that the Hellfire had done over the years at the beginning of his seventh year. The removed Hellfire was carefully and secretly secured in Urahara's private research laboratory so that he could continue to study it and work on a way to apply the cure to an angel's Grace. Namely, Raphael's. Also developed closer ties with various people during the family event. YEAR 6 ( Suddenly! UFOs ) After much work, many failures and a few false successes, Urahara, the angels and their collaborators were finally able to remove Raphael's Hellfire. The same procedure was also applied to Lucifer, and even though it was just a drop of water into that ocean of fire, the smallest amount of relief was still better than nothing. Urahara would continue to work on improving the method in the hopes of one day being able to eradicate the Hellfire from Lucifer's Grace. YEAR 7 ( Age of Extinction ) Has been working with Kuukaku over the years to develop new kidou to bolster the array of options open to the shinigami. Finally able to successfully test out a kidou spell during the mini-Armageddon, which only drives them to continue on with the project. YEAR 8 ( Human Forest ) YEAR 9 ( Twisted Personalities ) Became the truly cold, calculating, manipulative man that he could have been had things been different. Gone is that optimism and desire to help others, replaced only by his scientific interest and desire to understand, even if he keeps that goofy smile around. The better to fool people with~ YEAR 10 ( Ten Years Later ) And so the story picks up again ten years later. Funny how some people seemed to have aged back to ten years ago...
