Entrance:
Upon first entering Urahara’s mind, dreamers will find themselves in a large cavern. Those who are familiar with such things (or just familiar with Urahara) will realize that it is a large, underground, cavern. However, unlike the training compounds that Urahara usually builds, this one has a tall, red pagoda tower in the middle of it and the crimson strands wrapped around the visitor lead towards it.
First Level – The Pervert:
When the visitor enters the pagoda, he or she will be met with noise and people. There’s the sound of people laughing, both male and female, happy and carefree, much like how the shopkeeper often appears. All manners of sustenance are laid out, drinks and alcohol flow freely and there are beautiful figures dancing in time to the music filling the place. The occasional man or woman will brazenly come up to the dreamer with seductive glances and touches, inviting them to come up to one of the private rooms, their meaning and reason behind it quite clear. It’s clearly a place of pleasure, one that’s easy to lose oneself in, especially as it is all so carefully tailored for the visitor. Have a favorite food or drink? Well, an attractive server has just brought it up to you, prepared exactly the way you like it. Don’t consume human food? No worries, there’s hollow meat and virgin’s blood ready and waiting. And let’s not forget all the candy!
Of course, there are stairs leading up to the next level, but be careful… Most of the stairs lead up to those private rooms and who knows what you might find behind closed doors~? Too much to handle? There’s always the option of walking back out the pagoda, which will cause the dreamer to wake up.
Second Level – The Scientist:
Should the visitor, however, finally manage to find the right staircase, he or she will find themselves in a large research laboratory. Those who have been in the twelfth division’s Technical Development Department and Research Bureau will find the layout quite familiar as it was modeled after Urahara’s dream lab. All sorts of machines are humming away in the nooks and crannies, some resting on the counters next to all sorts of different colored solutions bubbling merrily away. Urahara, in the white researcher’s coat, is happily flitting between each experiment, but he isn’t the only one. Kurotsuchi Mayuri and other members of the research bureau are there as well. Talking to them will bring up memories tied to each person or a project that they’re working on, as will closer examination of the experiments. None of them are terribly, terribly interesting or dangerous, just useful little machines or projects analyzing the properties of different things in Adstringendum. How curious, for those that know what Urahara is capable of, that is.
Third Level – The Student:
Going up the stairs again will bring the visitor out onto the third level where a row of straw dolls are set up, targets painted onto their chests. A young Urahara, maybe around nine years old, is standing in front of them, a tall, muscular man wearing glasses and a one-armed woman with messy black hair standing on either side of him. Their hands move curiously and incantations are being called out before bursts of kidou fly out to connect with the targets. Talking to Urahara will have the boy happily chatter at the dreamer about kidou, maybe even show off some of them, though be careful, the spells might fly towards the watcher rather than the targets by accident. Talking to the man and woman will bring up memories of Tessai and Kuukaku, respectively, and going to study the mangled dummies will bring up memories of learning healing kidou from Unohana in Adstringendum.
Fourth Level – The Best Friend:
Somehow, climbing up towards the fourth floor will land the visitor on a rooftop. Those who are familiar with it will recognize an aerial view of Seireitei and the surrounding Rukongai before a burst of loud raucous laughter shatters the silence. Along with a flash of purple, followed closely by a blur of black. It’s a young Yoruichi and Urahara playing flash tag. Both are dressed simply in black shihakousho as they chance each other, blurring in and out of sight, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. If the dreamer manages to catch one of them or gets them to stop long enough to talk, Urahara’s memories of Yoruichi will start unfolding.
Fifth Level – The Teacher:
A ladder leading down from the roofs will lead up to the fifth floor of the pagoda, where the underground training cavern makes an appearance again. Here, Urahara looks as he usually does, except his hat is nowhere to be seen. Oh, and he’s flying towards the visitor to engage them in hand-to-hand combat while memories of being in the Covert Ops play out around the cavern, along with memories of him training others, either in his own world or here in Adstringendum. Those who are not proficient in hand-to-hand combat will instead end up missing out on the Covert Ops memories until after Urahara’s taught them some of the basics while on this level.
Sixth Level – The Shinigami:
Climbing up the long ladder attached to one of the sides of the cavern will lead the dreamer to another, smaller pagoda, one of those open structures that can be found in the middle of a park or next to a lake. Reclining on cushions in the shade of that pagoda is a woman clad in a red kimono, elegantly dangerous in appearance. Not to mention proud, haughty and noble. After all, she is the crimson princess, Benihime. And lounging on the steps of that pagoda in his white captain’s haori is Urahara, dutifully pouring out tea for the both of them, plus a third cup for the visitor. Join them for tea and learn about the Gotei 13, watch memories of Urahara and Benihime fighting together or even get to know Benihime herself - if she feels like talking to the person. If, however, she feels like the guest is no longer welcomed, those crimson ties will wrap around the dreamer and unceremoniously throw them out. Or kill them, depending on how nice she’s feeling that day. Or she’ll grudgingly toss them up to the seventh floor if Urahara insists that she plays nice.
Seventh Level – The Shopkeeper:
Urahara, complete with hat and fan, will happily great the visitor when they land on this level, perhaps even hooking the handle of his cane into the collar of their clothing to keep them from falling back down to the sixth floor if Benihime didn’t feel like being careful. The seventh floor does seem to be the top of the Wall of Adstringendum, so it’s quite high up, needing one to be careful of where they walk, though it does offer an excellent view of the night sky and the moons. Perfect for a nice heart-to-heart chat with the man and watch his memories of all his interactions with the dreamer. And learn what he thinks them. Most people will wake up after this point if they haven’t already, but should the visitor be someone that Urahara feels like sharing more with (or someone who is already familiar with the memories), he’ll grab them and jump down from off the wall. And all seven stories.
Lower Level – The Mastermind:
After falling down, down and down, visitors will find themselves in the basement level of the pagoda, which takes the form of the Maggots Nest, in other words, dungeon-like. And who should be their guide but Urahara? Except that the man looks slightly different - more serious and infinitely more dangerous. This is where the man’s true brilliance and all the intricacies of his mind shine through, though it’s interesting how almost everything is behind bars. Aizen, the Vaizards, the Hogyoku… It all plays out in a cell of its own. The more interesting, morally grey bits of research and projects he’s working on? Also here, along with all the… more controversial decisions he’s made while in Adstringendum. He’s a highly logical and intelligent man, which means that he can come off as quite cold sometimes, so perhaps the visitor might be better off not exploring the true depths of this floor.
And the log is here!
